This past month, March 2025, I took on my most ambitious monthly challenge yet. Floral March 2025 isn’t much different than other challenges I’ve participated in, but my involvement with my work is much more immersive for me, as well as the viewer.
I thought I would share these in batches. I think it’s fun to slowly peruse these videos and take them in as you can. So this is how I’m sharing these with you, the reader. I hope you like them, I hope you feel inspired after watching them.

I began doing these monthly art challenges, dipping my toes into the water slowly. As I did a couple more, I began using the work I made for the challenges as a way to stay accountable with myself. To make time for both my work as well as my sketchbook practice on a daily basis. It makes me trudge through my artist time and my personal obligations simultaneously. It makes me vary my use of my sketchbooks, it helps me get back to studies for work more like I used to do. It may have honed some of my skills on all playing fields.
I’ve been documenting this month’s sketchbook journey through videos recorded as I work. I’ve been posting long-form videos with some talking about what I’m doing, what products I’m using, and speeding up the more mundane parts to allow the viewer to just watch my work as I make it. I’m also posting short-form videos, with the whole creation process sped up, and making videos of about 30 seconds up to 3 minutes. A third way I’ve been sharing these are in 30 second short-form videos of my initial sketching of the floral subject in pencil.

This collection of four pieces I’m sharing here are Day 24-28. As I stated in part one of this series of sharing my Floral March 2025 pieces, I’ve taken on my most ambitious monthly challenge yet. Also I’d stated that my involvement with my work is much more immersive for me, as well as the viewer.
