There are so many great Artists, many of which we don't know as much about. Often times this isn’t due to skill or even sales during their lifetime, but their gender being female. There are a lot of reasons for this such as patriarchal culture, societal norms, sexism, patriarchal systems in museums, galleries, auctions, and many more. Also, many women Artists were unfairly overshadowed by their Artist male partner/husband because of this.
